Rubber Gaskets

Most original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) prefer rubber materials for their gaskets due to rubber’s innate flexibility, pliability, and conformability. Atlantic Gasket Corporation, an industry leading gasket manufacturing company, offers a spectrum of rubber grades to produce custom rubber die cut and waterjet cut gaskets that not only meet but often exceed customer’s requirements. At Atlantic Gasket, most rubber grades are available as thin as .016" thk. to .250" thk. We provide materials in continuous rolls or cut-to-size for your specific applications. Most rubber grades come in a measure of hardness (durometer) as soft as 30 duro. and as hard as 90 duro.

See our comparative elastomer chart for detailed information on the many advantages of various rubber elastomers. This chart will help you compare elastomers and determine which material is most suitable for your application. Read on for Atlantic Gasket’s available rubber grades.

Silicone Rubber offers excellent properties for both hot and cold temperature extremes. In addition, silicone rubber takes a low compression set and is resistant to UV, ozone, and fungus.

Nitrile (Buna-N) Rubber offers excellent resistance to oils and solvents.
  • Commercial Grade Nitrile – moderate oil resistance
  • Mid-Grade Nitrile
  • Premium Grade Nitrile – 100% Nitrile base
  • FDA Grade Nitrile – made from FDA approved ingredients per CFR 177.266 (off-white color)
  • Alternative Fuel Grade Nitrile
  • Transformer Oil Grade Nitrile
Neoprene Rubber offers good oil and petroleum base solvent resistance, as well as good weathering and ozone resistance.
  • Commercial Grade Neoprene (13% Neoprene base)
  • Medium Grade Neoprene (51% Neoprene base)
  • High Grade Neoprene (100% Neoprene base)
  • FDA Grade Neoprene – made from FDA approved ingredients per CFR 117.266 (off-white color)
EPDM Rubber offers excellent resistance to ozone, sunlight, oxygen, heat and aging as well as acids, alkali, and ketones.
  • Commercial Grade
  • Peroxide Cured EPDM
  • High Grade EPDM
Viton® Rubber offers excellent resistance to heat, oil and a wide range of concentrated acids.
  • FE350 – Industrial Grade
  • FE400 – Commercial Grade (Viton “A”)
  • FE450 – Premium Grade (Viton “B”)
  • W65VIFDA, 65 Duro. FDA Grade
  • AG2139 – Viton closed cell sponge

Butyl Rubber offers excellent weathering properties, resist heat, acids and alkali, plus has a low gas permeability and high dielectric strength.

Hypalon Rubber (CSPE/CSM) offers excellent resistance to ozone and sunlight aging.

As a leading gasket manufacturer, Atlantic Gasket Corporation works with elastomer suppliers to manufacture gaskets of the highest quality rubber materials. At Atlantic Gasket, we invest in the latest technology and equipment to manufacture custom rubber die cut and waterjet cut gaskets as small as 1/16" dia. up to 54" dia. and any size or shape in between. Upon request, we can fabricate your rubber gaskets with an adhesive backing that can significantly increase efficiency in the assembly process for a quick turnaround. With our in-house waterjet cutting capabilities we can now ship finished parts same day if required without the need for tooling.
