Cellular Urethane Foam

Atlantic Gasket Corporation offers three manufactured Cellular Urethane Foam materials for diverse industrial and commercial applications: non-skinned Cellular Urethane Foam, open cell Polyurethane memory foam, and cast-to-gauge Cellular Urethane Foam. Each is uniquely engineered to provide our customers with choices in the material selection for their application. Generally speaking, our low and high density Cellular Urethane Foam materials are used as flexible, shock absorbing foam pads, cushions, and other protective and ergonomic padding applications. Read on to find out more about the available formulations and grades of this material and applicable properties, and padding and cushion applications.

Materials Properties Applications
NON-SKINNED Cellular Urethane Foam Our unique family of medium to firm density Cellular Urethane Foams is engineered in two formulations – “I” and “U” Series. Other options and additives available include fire retardant, anti-microbial, and custom colors. Ergonomic / Safety, Sporting Goods, Athletic Equipment, Medical, Automotive, Industrial, Electronic
“I” Series: I-1814-FR, I-2116-FR, I-2423-FR, I-2435-FR The “I” Series exhibits high resiliency and high rebound within a broad temperature range and all five grades are fire retardant, meeting FMVSS-302.
“U” Series: U-1916, U-1923, U-2126, U-2616, U-2626, U-3151 The “U” Series offers excellent compression set resistance at ambient temperatures, is lightweight, breathable, and moisture wicking.
OPEN CELL POLYURETHANE (MEMORY) FOAM Unique properties allow for even pressure distribution and the free flow of air, reducing heat and moisture buildup. Safety, Sporting Goods, Athletic Equipment, Medical, Footwear
W-1628 The softest grade, available in light camel color.
W-1636 The medium-soft grade, available in light gray.
W-1644 The medium-firm grade, available in light blue.
W-1653 The firm grade, available in light green.
CAST-TO-GAUGE Cellular Urethane Foam This fine-celled Cellular Urethane Foam exhibits very low compression set, low outgassing, good dimensional stability, and chemical resistance. This material meets UL94, UL50, UL508 and UL514B. Vibration isolation and high shock absorbing applications
AGIS-2500 25 pcf density
AGIS-2000 20 pcf density
AGIS-1500 15 pcf density

All of our non-skinned Cellular Urethane Foams are manufactured in buns up to 4" thick and can be skived as thin as 1/16" thick for lower density foams in thicknesses well below those made by the cast-to-gauge method. Our slow recovery memory foam is an open cell Polyurethane foam in which all firmnesses are manufactured at a 5 pcf density with varying indention force deflection ratings. Cast-to-gauge Cellular Urethane Foam is manufactured with a skinned surface on both sides and is available in thicknesses of 1/32", 1/16", 1/8", 3/16", 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" in rolls 54" wide. All of our Cellular Urethane Foam materials can be die cut or waterjet cut to size or slit to your exact requirements, and can be supplied laminated with fabrics or an adhesive backing.
