Typical Properties of Style AGSIFIREF Closed Cell Flame Retardant Firm Density Silicone Sponge

AGSIFIREF is a flame retardant closed cell firm density silicone sponge which is designed for gasket applications requiring a low compression set, a resistance to extreme temperatures, and flammability measures. The flame retardant firm density silicone sponge has a closed cell structure which prevents water absorption of less than 3% per ASTM D1056 and has a smooth surface finish allowing for better sealing and the ability to apply an adhesive. AGSIFIREF meets the UL94HB and FMVSS 302 specifications and is capable of meeting AMS 3196, ASTM D6576 Type II Grade A, and MIL-R-6130 Type II Grade A. It also meets self-extinguishing and UL flammability classification. Atlantic Gasket’s AGSIFIREF silicone sponge endures a temperature range of -100°F (-73°C) to 500°F (260°C) and also has excellent resistance to oxidation, UV, ozone, and weathering.

AGSIFIREF flame retardant firm density silicone sponge, offered by Atlantic Gasket, comes in a variety of widths, thicknesses, and a red color. This silicone sponge is also available in a flame retardant soft density (AGSIFIRES) and flame retardant medium density (AGSIFIREM) along with widths of up to 36" and thicknesses from .062" to .500". AGSIFIREF has the ability to have a pressure sensitive adhesive laminated to this silicone sponge, and Atlantic Gasket can slit it to widths as narrow as ¼" or as wide as 36". The silicone sponge can be cut to size for custom parts either using our high-speed die-cutting process or our high-precision waterjet-cutting machine for production quantities and/or prototype requirements.
