Style AG-613-55LT is an electrically-conductive shielding gasket material that is a 55 durometer (Shore A) nickel-coated graphite-filled silicone elastomer which protects electronic equipment and produces shielding against radio frequency interference (RFI) and electromagnetic interference (EMI). AG-613-55LT nickel-coated graphite-filled silicone is resistant to very low temperatures and displays low levels of outgassing in environments with high vacuum. It has a volume resistivity of .01 ohm/cm with a shielding effectiveness of greater than 113 dB.
AG-613-55LT has a TML (Total Mass Loss) of 0.15% and CVCM of 0.05% which are both within the limits that NASA typically uses. The standard test method used for both of these properties (TML and CVCM) is ASTM E595. This nickel-coated graphite-filled silicone can be converted into die-cut and water jet cut parts or provided as sheets of different sizes and continuous rolls. AG-613-55LT is available in both sheet stock and continuous 15” wide rolls. The material can be provided in a dark gray color.

The chart below compares the electrically-conductive nickel-coated graphite-filled silicone to other filler materials that act as electromagnetic interference (EMI)/radio frequency interference (RFI) shielding. We offer the nickel-coated graphite-filled silicone which acts as a great sealant against environmental factors and large temperatures ranges. When compared to other fillers such as silver-coated copper, silver-coated glass, and silver-coated aluminum, nickel-coated graphite has a conductivity that is comparable to its silver counterparts.
Filler | Conductivity | Typical Volume Resistivity (V.R.) |
Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Silver | Extremely Conductive | .0009 ohms/cm | Most Expensive |
Silver Coated Aluminum | Super Conductive | .003 ohms/cm | More Expensive |
Silver Coated Copper | Super Conductive | .001 ohms/cm | Expensive |
Silver Coated Glass | Very Conductive | .006 ohms/cm | Less Expensive |
*Nickel Coated Graphite | Conductive | .01 ohms/cm | Least Expensive* |
